CISCO CONSULTING SERVICES

Creative Thinking & Problem Solving in a Global Environment

Cisco Consulting Services approached the Global Marketing Communications & Advertising program at Emerson College to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy which would revitalize and differentiate their Thought Leadership program in regards to the Internet of Everything (IoE). Our cohort of 30 students was divided into eight groups, in which we worked diligently over the semester to create a solution to their team who would fly out from California for our 30-minute presentations. By utililizing our collective strengths and combining our creative problem solving techniques, my group was able to deliver a package to the Cisco Consulting Team complete with suggestions to revamp their current website devoted to their Consulting Services as well as a Thought Leadership social network hosted by Cisco. My team also created a video which we believe captured the essence of Thought Leadership today. Our presentation was graded an "A" by the Cisco team with comments such as:

"Most profound question raised in the day", "Useful competitive analysis", "Very nice mockups", "Idea of orchestrating an online community was spot-on", "Well-thought out strategy and tactics for improving our digital platform", and

"Video was very polished, looked like it cost $100k"

ANHEUSEUR-BUSCH BECK'S GREEN LEMON BEER
Research Methods for Global Marketing Communication & Advertising
Eileen Louissaint, Hien Pham, Nele Rieve, and Edwin Stubbs

Boston, MA was ranked as having the highest beer drinking per capita in the United States by CNN in 2013. Do you think it could use another imported beer to add to the roster? One of my projects required that we choose a brand or product which has not yet been introduced to the United States market and determine if it is practical for the product to enter the Boston market at the time of research. My team used primary and secondary research to help up develop our recommendation including the following tools: SWOT analysis, Surveys, Focus Groups, SPSS, and Emerson College library databases including Euromoniter, CountryWatch, Mintel, and MRI+. Beck's Green Lemon Beer failed the action standard, therefore, we concluded that Beck's should avoid introducing this line the Boston beer market considering the unfavorable conditions at this time.

Take a look at our final presentation displaying our findings.
